Google Chrome browser is one of the most popular browsers out there, but there has not been any 64-bit version yet. In the past, we had discussions and arguments that a 64-bit web browser would not make much difference.
Today, Google want to prove that those arguments were wrong. They do; in terms of speed, security, and stability.
According to this official Google blog post on Chrome 64-bit release, you can get an average of 25% performance improvement especially in graphics and multimedia contents, more secure because Chrome can now take advantage of Windows 8 security features (assuming you run Windows 8), and much more stable than the 32-bit version of Chrome (though I rarely encounter a Chrome crash so far).
Apart from the new icon, you probably won’t notice the difference right away, but you’ll be surprised what’s happening under the hood.
