The first Pixel phone was launched on 2016 and since then, Google perfected by introducing features based on Artificial Intelligence like their amazing computation photography. If you read our Pixel 5 review, you can see the great photos taken by Google Pixel 5, even without having an expensive four-quad camera system.
It’s made possible by Google’s computational photography but apparently still being limited by the chip. So, Google has decided to make their own System on a Chip (SoC) which is called Google Tensor and it will be powering the next generation of Pixel phones, including the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
With Google Tensor, Google can run their most powerful AI and ML models directly on the phone itself. According to Google, you will see a transformed experience for the camera and speech recognition (Voice commands Translation Captioning & Dictation), among other things.
“Tensor enables us to make the Google phones we’ve always envisioned — phones that keep getting better, while tapping the most powerful parts of Google, all in a highly personalized experience. And with Tensor’s new security core and Titan M2, Pixel 6 will have the most layers of hardware security in any phone.” – Rick Osterloh, Google Devices & Services Senior Vice President.
Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be running Android 12 Operating System and new design, plus improved camera sensors and lenses. The Pixel 6 Pro will have a light polished aluminium frame and the Pixel 6 will be coated with matte’s aluminium finish.
