Over the years, LifeProof FRE has been my go-to case for when I need tough and waterproof protection for my iPhone (such as the FRE for my iPhone 7 and iPhone 6).
And despite the latest “water and dust resistance” feature of the iPhone X, there are a lot of benefits that LifeProof FRE has to offer.

LifeProof FRE for iPhone X Case Review – Features
The main selling point of this case is its waterproof feature, which clearly dwarfs iPhone X’s standard ability to only be “water resistant”. It boasts its ability to fully submerge under water for up to 2 metres for up to an hour without ruining your phone. The case has a built-in screen cover and is tightly sealed and prevents water, dirt, snow and debris from entering your phone.
All of these features has an international standard for IP68 protection, which is currently the highest ratings for solids and liquids.
It is also tough and can survive drops from up to 2 metres and complies with U.S. Military Standard.
Despite all of these full protection features, you can still easily access the port, and buttons, as well as mic and speakers.
LifeProof FRE for iPhone X Case Review – Road Test
The case has a very simple design that still gives access to all your phone’s features. No fancy bells and whistles.
For a full-featured case like this, LifeProof FRE for iPhone X is relatively thin, adding only less than one-fold of thickness to the original depth of iPhone X (from 7.7mm up to roughly 13mm).
The thickness of front border of the case is quite minimal and keeps your ability to interact with the edges of the touchscreen without added difficulties.
The silicon part that cover the buttons and toggle are also quite responsive, there is practically no need for added pressure to access these items.
The built-in screen-cover is relatively thick but only takes little time for your fingers to get used to, as you adjust the slightly added amount of pressure required to interact with the screen.
The port cover at the bottom is very accessible and allows you to charge your phone without the need to bend any parts of the case or the cable.
What makes this case my favourite is the fact that I can easily take off this supposedly tight case with just my fingers and without the need of some sort of coins or lever to crack open the case. This, to me, is very important as it allows me to attach and detach the case anytime I want and on the go – with or without coins available.
