iRobot Launches New Suite of ROOMBA Floor Cleaning Robots in Australia

iRobot has just announced their largest product launch in the company’s 35-year history, introducing a comprehensive lineup of technologically advanced Roomba vacuums and 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robots to the Australian market. These new cleaning solutions feature everything from debris-compacting systems to extending and retractable dual-spinning mop pads designed to tackle stubborn messes around the home.

While you’re here, make sure to check how impressive the Roomba Combo 10 Max + AutoWash Dock is in my review.

The new robots showcase a premium design aesthetic alongside significant technological improvements. All models in the 2025 lineup feature increased suction power, faster mapping capabilities, and improved navigation through ClearView Lidar Navigation. Select higher-end models also incorporate PrecisionVision AI Technology, which I suspect will dramatically improve obstacle detection and avoidance compared to previous generations.

One feature I’m particularly interested to test is the automatic carpet detection and avoidance system. Previous robot mops have struggled with this transition, often leaving damp patches on carpets, so this could be a genuine game-changer for homes with mixed flooring types.

The new collection includes several models with distinctive capabilities:

  • Roomba 105 Robot series: Featuring 70x more power-lifting suction than previous models
  • Roomba 205 DustCompactorTM Combo Robot: Includes an industry-leading DustCompactorTM innovation that packs away debris for months
  • Roomba Plus 405 Combo Robot + AutoWashTM Dock: Combines intense suction and deep scrubbing with a maintenance-free dock
  • Roomba Plus 505 Combo Robot + AutoWashTM Dock: The flagship model featuring PerfectEdge Technology, a multi-function dock that automatically empties debris, washes and heat-dries mop pads, and self-cleans

Alongside the hardware updates, iRobot has completely revamped their Roomba Home app, which looks to offer more intuitive control for users. Based on my experience with previous iRobot software, this could address some of the navigational complexities that sometimes frustrated users of earlier models.

Availability and Pricing in Australia

The new Roomba lineup will be available in Australia beginning April 1, 2025, with prices starting at $499 AUD through shopirobot.com.au.
