UPDATE: Sadly, this is just a bad joke. None of it is true: http://earpodsecret.tumblr.com/post/84812960647/sorry
If you still want to read the post, however, feel free to:
An Apple staff, who was recently let go by Apple, leaked an info about the upcoming improvements on the Apple’s EarPods (those are Apple’s earphones, if you are wondering what they are). According to the staff leaking the info on Secret:
Apple’s new EarPods will have sensors in them, for heart rate & blood pressure. Also iBeacons so they don’t get lost. They will require the lightning port, it’s why the audio jack was moved to the bottom.
He/she also said that there is a new redesigned remote and noise cancelling microphone on the new upcoming EarPods. The product should be unveiled when “iOS 8 drops” and not having to wait for the iPhone 6 (though it would definitely be bundled with iPhone 6 some time later this year).
Why would anyone want this? Well the staff made another comment on his/her take about the new sensors:
It stores the data in a similar way to thumbprint point data, fully encrypted and nothing identifiable. But nice to send to your doctor to keep track of at which point your blood pressure started rising for example.
The iBeacons feature also sounds pretty cool, because you can use the feature to locate where your earphones are (you know how easy it can get lost, right?). Unfortunately, I know lots of people who prefer wearing wireless Bluetooth earphones such as myself or a more expensive set of earphones. Will this make them go back to using Apple’s? We shall see.
The other question remains, does this mean there won’t be an iWatch? All the rumors about a new Apple’s wearable device, can this be it? Maybe not. According to the staff, there WILL BE an iWatch, though the name is not final yet (the one with the Crown/King avatar is the ex-staff):
Exciting year for Apple fans, 2014 is.
