OPPO has just launched a new smartphone for the mid range market, the OPPO Reno2 Z with surprises as always. The Reno2 Z will be equipped with high-end camera features like Ultra Dark Mode, Ultra Wide Angle, Bokeh Effect Video, and Ultra Steady Video.
On a AU$599 phone, these features sound too good to be true but this is not the first time OPPO has added many features usually reserved for flagship phones into their low to mid-range smartphones like the OPPO A73.
The new OPPO Reno2 Z features a 6.5 inch E1 AMOLED screen with a screen to body ratio of 91.1%. It comes with an elegant and stylish design and if you hate notches on modern smartphones, you won’t find any here.
The screen is a 5th Generation Corning Gorilla Glass, so expect a highly durable glass. It also has a Hidden Fingerprint Unlock 3.0 for brighter unlock area and faster unlocking speeds.
OPPO Reno2 Z is powered by an MTK P90 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It’s running on ColorOS 6.1 which is based on Android Pie 9.0. No HUAWEI nightmare here on OPPO, thankfully.
But the highlights of the show are the cameras here and their features set. OPPO Reno2 Z features 48MP Ultra-clear main camera (powered by an extra large ½” SONY IMX586 sensor), 8MP Wide Angle Lens, 2MP Mono Lens and 2MP Portrait Lens.
With high-end features like Hybrid Zoom, Ultra Dark Mode, and more such as the Bokeh effect when recording video (which is also available on the front facing camera), you’ll have plenty of things to play around with.
It doesn’t have 5G obviously – which is reserved for their highest end model, the OPPO Reno 5G.

The OPPO Reno2 Z is available now for purchase at many retailers around Australia.
