The BlackWidow keyboard line has always been Razer’s most-featured, flagship gaming keyboards for many years. We’ve seen the Standard version, Ultimate, Pro, etc from different generations as well. The BlackWidow V3 Pro was the first time for a BlackWidow being wireless and we were glad that it did, which was soon followed by the BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed. I love wireless gaming keyboard as it makes my desk free from clutter, at the expense of having to recharge the keyboard every now and then.
I reviewed the BlackWidow V3 Pro back in November 2020 so I’m pretty excited to hear that Razer has released the successor in 2023, the BlackWidow V4 Pro.
So what’s new in Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro? Well, there’s the Razer Command Dial that offers advanced controls and shortcuts for desktop apps and also in games. It comes with a preset of 8 default modes but you can program the dial with up to 100 Custom Modes. You can program multiple application shortcuts such as Photoshop brush size adjustment with the dial, and many more.
Apart from the dial, the keyboard is also packed with the latest features you want in a gaming keyboard: 8 dedicated macro keys, Razer Chroma RGB with per-key lighting, Razer’s mechanical switches (Green Clicky or Yellow Linear).
The new model also has USB 2.0 passthrough so you can plug a mouse like the DeathAdder V3 Pro, detachable Type C connections, a durable 5052 aluminum alloy top case, dual-angle kickstands, and up to 8000 Hz polling rate.
Please note though that the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro does not support wireless connectivity.
