Swann has launched SwannShield, revolutionising home security with the world’s first AI-powered voice assistant for smart doorbells. This groundbreaking technology, compatible with the SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell that I’ve reviewed earlier (make sure to check it out), promises to transform how homeowners interact with visitors and manage their property’s security.
Unveiled on 1st October 2024 in Sydney, SwannShield harnesses cutting-edge adaptive generative AI to engage visitors in real-time across various scenarios. Whether it’s handling package deliveries, identifying guests, or deterring potential intruders, this innovative system offers a new level of intelligent home protection.
The SwannShield assistant employs natural, realistic speech with an Australian accent to communicate with visitors when they press the doorbell. This feature proves particularly useful when homeowners are away, providing a human-like presence even in their absence.
Customisation is also at the heart of SwannShield’s design. Users can easily personalise settings via the Swann Security App, including activation times, home address details, resident names, and delivery instructions. So for example when I tested it, you can turn this on whenever you set your mode to Away or at Night – and you can enter all the resident names in the app. The system even allows for adjusting the AI’s demeanour, offering polite, disinterested, or aggressive responses to suit different situations.
The system provides robust conversational management capabilities, ensuring accurate and resilient responses even in unexpected or potentially adversarial interactions. Users can access conversation transcripts through the app, allowing them to review any security concerns.
Available as a free update within the Swann Security App, SwannShield currently works with the SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell and is set to expand compatibility to other Swann products in the coming months.
This is definitely more advanced than the smart responses I found from the other brands so far.
