Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry Review – Cleaning Hard Floor Made Simple

In August 2024, Tineco announced their partnership with Harvey Norman Australia to expand their retail presence in the region. This news is very exciting for us Australian consumers because now Tineco’s products are more accessible than ever. With this partnership, Harvey Norman is now offering Tineco’s wet and dry ranges. I finally got my hands on one of their latest models: Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry and here’s my review on the product.

What’s in the box

Here are the items you can find in the box:

  • Tineco’s Deodorising and Cleaning Solution
  • Spare Brush Roller
  • Spare Dry Filter
  • Cleaning Tool
  • Transparent Tray

Cleaning and cruising

That’s how I feel when navigating the house with this wonderful appliance. It is about 4.5 kg, so it is not super light, but it does have a motor pulling you forward when you are using it (hence the cruising), so it does not feel heavy. Not to mention like the other Tineco products, it is easy to steer as you can turn the handle left and right slightly to help with navigation.

Yea yea, ok ok, it handles easily and yada yada yada, but it does not matter if it does not clean well. So let’s take a look at Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry in action as it cleans a spill that might or might not have been intentionally made after a certain little human in the house did not finish his brekkie.

As you can see, even after the first go, it sucked and washed everything in the first go. I did go a few more passes around the spill to clean the surrounding splatter, but I can confidently say Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry cleaned this mess really well.

There are 4 modes to take advantage of in Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry:

  • Auto mode
This is easily my favourite as I do not have to think while cleaning.
  • MAX mode
This is to remove stubborn dirt that cannot be removed by the normal mode
  • Suction mode
This is suction only and will not be using any water
  • Solution mode (hold the mode button for 3 seconds)
This is to clean your floor utilising Tineco’s cleaning solution to remove grime and sticky mess

Tineco’s proprietary iLoop™ Smart Sensor technology automatically adjusts the water flow, suction, and battery power depending on the type of mess, optimising cleaning efficiency while saving energy. This ensures that the battery can last ~40 minutes per session, although I normally finish cleaning my whole house within 15-20 minutes.

This model also takes advantage of Tineco’s MHCBS™ Technology (Multi-Horizontal Continuous Brush System). What is it and how does it work? It is a system where it constantly supplies fresh water to the brush roll during cleaning. This ensures that only clean water is used to scrub the floors, preventing dirty water from being reused or redeposited. As a result, your floors remain free of grime and streaks, delivering a consistently spotless clean with every pass. Essentially, it keeps the brush roll clean and effective throughout the entire cleaning process, which enhances the cleaning quality and maintains hygiene. This for me is a BIG WIN!

The FlashDry Self Cleaning system

We know that the Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry can clean our floor really well. But how do we keep the appliance clean? Does it require a strenuous and arduous manual cleaning effort every so often to maintain its own cleanliness? After all, the appliance does need to be clean enough to make our floor spotless and not the opposite. Thankfully, the answer is no. In fact, it cleans itself really well with its FlashDry Self Cleaning system.

But what is it?

The FlashDry Self-cleaning System delivers superb cleaning efficiency and hygiene by getting the vacuum ready for reuse in just around 7 minutes. It starts with a 2-minute, 70°C hot water wash that breaks down tough stains and thoroughly cleans the internal components, including the pipe and brush roller. Then, the 5-minute FlashDry process uses high-temperature air to quickly remove residual water from all parts of the appliance. The brush roller rotates in two directions and is air-dried, resulting in a fluffier, dryer brush that prevents mould and odours. This rapid drying is facilitated by a specially designed base that seals the exposed area of the roller, allowing the vacuum to dry efficiently.

Anyway, I thought that was worth mentioning as it gave me the confidence that the device is always ready to use (and does not have to be cleaned manually). This is what it looks like after the self cleaning process. It still feels a bit damp, but overall, it looks clean and ready for the next session.

This is what the dirty water tank looks like from the earlier spill cleaning. As you can see, the liquid and solid waste are separated nicely so they can be disposed of easily. Kudos to the team in Tineco for showing yet another thoughtfulness to us users.

The Tineco Life App

The app is wonderful as it shows some key and important information about the state of the Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry. Some key information like the battery level, the charging time, the state of clean water tank and dirty water tank, the state of the brush roller, etc.

But one thing that I noticed is that the device usage log in the app is not up to date. I’ve been using the device daily for the past few days, yet no usage was registered in the log and my average daily duration of use still remains 0. This might be something for the support team and tech team at Tineco to investigate.

Some improvement opportunities

The first thing I noticed was its bulky build that makes this appliance has its limitation in reaching certain nooks and crannies. But I guess it is a small price to pay considering it does need to store the clean and dirty water somewhere. It is a vacuum cleaner/mop device and I’d rather it be useful rather than small.

The other thing that is rather confusing is the brush headlight (or the lack of one). Despite it being written in the packaging, I did not see a brush headlight on the device. I called Tineco Australia and asked for clarification and they have confirmed that Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry does NOT have the brush light. It is a shame because I like having a brush headlight to help me see small dirt on the floor, but truth be told, this is just a nice to have and NOT essential.

I would also like to commend Tineco Australia’s support person who was helping me with this inquiry as she was super attentive, helpful, and transparent. Actually, I am quite impressed with Tineco Australia’s transparency around this issue. Yes, they made a mistake by having the brush headlight feature in the packaging box, but they did not try to justify or sugar coat it. They admitted that it was a problem and notified the appropriate personnel to get this fixed. After all, everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone owns it and learns from it. Really big kudos to Tineco for their commitment to continuous improvement.

Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry Review Conclusion

All in all, Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry is a wonderful cleaning device. I am impressed by Tineco’s commitment and thoughtfulness to their consumers as they keep spoiling us with the latest tech in their products and wonderful customer service to help us with our enquiries.

Lastly, it has a fantastic price point. You can get it at Harvey Norman at A$899 RRP. If you need a reliable tool, but do not want to spend a fortune on it, Tineco FLOOR ONE S6 FlashDry will be a great fit. I would recommend this bad boy to anyone.
